Heater/ hotend "meltdown" on K8200

Dear Velleman,

I have got my K8200 printer to work in January 2014 and have printet about 25 parts in ABS.

Heater temperatur : 210 degrees celcius.

It is quit diffecult to print with ABS on the K8200, but now I have found some good parameter combinations to the Repetier - Host to make it possible.

The problem is now that the Heater/ hotend is total melted.

I have some pictures to send to you, but do not know how to attache it using “Img” above.

I assume, Velleman will ASAP send new parts (all part in 019 - ASSEMBLING THE HOTEND) for repair free of charge.

Please send minimum 5 NTC Thermistor, because assembling this part is so diffecult. The 2 pcs. I got in the kit is now broken.

Best regards,

Jannik

upload the images to an image hoster like imageshack and post the links of the pictures in the forum

Dear Velleman.

Dear Velleman,

I am not sure how to do that, below is a try. I do not know if it is correct. My image is named DSC01608 on my PC.

Otherwise, please let me know an email, wherein I can respond and attach my pictures taken.

I have not a lot of time finding out of this. Just want to get parts for repair ASAP.

The printer is used in for development purpose in my company, and if quality and support of the K8200 is poor, I have to invest in other 3D printer types that are not as “fragile” as the K8200.

Best regards,

Jannik

Dear Velleman,

Just resend the mail as 3 mails, part 1 of 3 to part 3 of 3, because you only can receive 10 Mb emails, (pictures are each 6,5 Mb)

Best regards,

Jannik

Dear Velleman,

Did you receive my email ?

Best regards,

Jannik

We received the mail and saw that the temp sensor of the extruder is not mounted properly which lead to the high temperature.
Because the temp sensor is measuring the air around the extruder and not the extruder itself it will keep heating the extruder.
You will have to order new parts from your local velleman dealer.

Dear Velleman,

You are wrong. the NTC Thermister has all the time been on the side like in your instruction.

Disassembling the Hotend extruder which is not easy, trying to prevend NTC Thermister to brake has moved the NTC Thermister forward as seen in the picture.

While printing, when it was working (before “meltdown”) the NTC Thermister has been on the side measuring the correct temperatur.

Please let me hear your quick respond.

Best regards,

Jannik
