I just assembled the hotend following the PDF manual. Seems like I have a new version of the hotend which was not covered in this old version of the manual.
Following the old instructions I cut both sleeves in half whereas with the new version only one should be cut in half.

My question: Is it enough to just put both halves over the NTC? If not - what is this sleeve and where can I get a replacement for it?

Hi,
You’re right in that one piece should be left long for the newer hot end assy. The long sleeve is approx centred over the ntc passed through the block with the ntc then set in the centre of the block the wire and sleeve folded back round and the washer nips the wire+plus sleeve back to the block. You can’t fasten the wire to the block without the sleeve else the pvc insulation on the wire will melt.
I’ll have a scout about to see where you can get some more sleeving.

tip : when fixing the wire back to the block the wire kept slipping free so
i bent a joggle into the washer with a vice and pliers.
