Hi!
Yesterday I tweaked my printer bed, I glued a piece of glass to the heated bed in order to get an even surface as it was a problem for me in my first print.
But also the temperature, so today I was going to slightly raise the extruder and bed temperature, from 50-70 and 190-210.
I did however notice today after I fixed the Z-stop for the new glass surface that the thermistor cable for the heated bed had come off. I tried printing anyway without the bed but of course I got the warning message “Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)”
So I could not run without it. I quickly went to another garage with solding gear that has good equipment. I extended the thermistor cable with a slightly thicker copper cable and repaired the connection.
When I got home however the Repetier software says my bed is on 273C, which I am pretty sure is not correct (Could be wrong). Either way I can’t print now since I can’t disable the bed, nor raise the max temperature and steadily measure what’s actually 70C.
I read on other forums that if there’s a different resistance the thermistor could show a temperature too high. Is it really that sensitive? Considering that the wire I used was of better quality. I know the extra piece of cable is thicker, would changing to some original cable solve this?
I doubt that the thermistor is broken since I’ve not touched it.
I would love if there’s another way around this since the original cable is very weak and easily breaks. Thus this new wire could be beneficial. A plan I had was raising the max temperature and then measure what 70C is myself, that does however not seem possible. I just want to print, any ideas?
