Heat bed not heating up on K8200 using Ramps 1.4

Hi Everyone

I have upgraded my K8200 borad to Ramps 1.4 and all seemed well until I tested the heat bed so I tapped the icon to heat the bed up and waited… and waited… and waited for it to do nothing. I first thought it was the a connection issue or I might of fried the boards (Adriuno, Ramps) so I checked all the connections and all seemed fine and I can move the X,Y,Z axis with out an issue and i haven’t tried the extruder yet as I wanted to make sure everything else was working before that.

So I made sure again that everything was connected right aand I thought I should check the heat bed to make sure it does heat up with out the board so I connected it directly to the ATX PSU I have got and it works and heats up really well, ok well I plugged it all back in and tried it again and the heat bed still didn’t work so I though it might be the firmware, so I flashed a new firmware on it (Marlin v2) and I edited it so it matched the ramps 1.4 board etc and still it didn’t work

I have tried to flash marlin v1 and v2 and edited the configuration.h file each time to make sure it works and nope the heat bed still does not want to heat up.

I did think it might be the ramps board so I bought a new one as well and that didn’t make the heat bed work.

I will include the configuration.h file so you all can have a look

I hope its a simple thing

Did you manage to fix this?

If you have K8200 issues, better post them in the K8200 forum…

I had this problem with my K8200 and RAMPS 1.4 board. I even tried multiple Arduino and RAMPS controllers and all behaved the same way - I could turn on each heater a single time before they would stop working completely.

In my case, the solution was to update the EEPROM settings after reflashing the firmware. This can be done by sending the following two gcode commands: “M502” to load factory default settings into RAM, followed by “M500” to store RAM settings into EEPROM. After doing this, everything else worked just fine.

This post probably should be moved to the K8200 forum.
