Have I blown my board?

Hi all, I am new to electronics. I got a VM110 board for xmas and I am trying to operate a pair of stepper motors to ultimately produce an xy plotter. I connected a stepper motor chip to drive one of the motors using outputs 1-4. I could not get this to work! I then used some relays to ground the motor coils. This has been successful and the motor turned using digital outputs 5-8.

I think I may have damaged my board as I have subsequently used the demo program and measured the voltage drop between GND and each digital output (without any connections) in turn.I found that outputs 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 all have a reading of 0.6V. In the case of outputs 1, 2 and 4 the readings were all 0V which I believe shows that these outputs have not switched. All of the indicator LEDs lit up in turn.

Has anyone any idea what I have done and how I can repair the board?

Thanks in anticipation.

I have replaced IC4 with IC2 as per previous posting. All outputs are now working fine.

Thanks all

This your xy plotter project is a nice new application for the VM110/K8055 board.
Sorry that your other transistor array ULM2803 is blown and you can’t now use the digital inputs of the card…

Hello,

If you need a new ULN array, you can send me a mail at support@velleman.be wih your complete address.
