GND (Ground) - What is it for?

Hallo,

when I’m measuring DC Voltages. What can I do with the GND coupling? It does nothing on the screen than showing the middle of the Y-Achsis. Is that the meaning of this GND use?

you can move the position of the line.
with the GND button you can see on which high is the 0V line.

It is also necessary to GND the scope before you perform DC measurements, in other to get correct readouts.
