Generating too much support material

Hi all,
I use this forum a lot and I have to say that the advice I get from here is amazing. I love my k8200 and have printed tonnes of items on it, usually every day.
However when I print an item that needs support (quite often) it can be very hard to remove sometimes, usually needing me to ram a screwdriver into the material to break it free from the print.
Is there a way to stop it doing this and also what settings are best for using the minimal amount of plastic without resorting in a less quality print?

At the moment the print can sometimes be ruined by the support material not coming apart from the actual print causing a bit of a mess.

any help would be great.

Kind Regards

Hi Ross,

Support is not the best feature in Slic3r.

What works best for me is setting the overhang threshold to more or less 25° so it doesn’t put support everywhere. Setting pattern spacing and angle can minimize the amount of material used.
Interface layers and pattern spacing don’t work for me.

Ok. I’ll give it a try later today to see if that helps.

Thanks.
Ross

worked brilliantly, thanks for your help with this.
