Have you thought about sharing it on Thingiverse?
You could provide a picture or two on Thingiverse to show what it looks like.
Thingiverse and makerbot are evil, so don’t endorse them.
I also made one of these things, except I incorporated that gear bearing design by Emmett:

Someone else made one that used the bearings from the second filament spool, but I have two nozzles so that wasn’t suitable.
Why that?

There are some stories about stole ideas and patents.

Well, anyone could take your designs and do a “rip-off” when you publish it anywhere.
Not just makerbot on thingiverse. That is a common problem, especially in US.
The only defense is to notice the patent authority of prior art, and make such behaviour public.
The most" BIG" companies are very sensible on their “Image”.
Or, of course, apply for a Patent yourself and make it publicly available afterwards if you want it to be shared.
If something has already been published surely you can not get a patent on it ?!
I have a few patents myself through the company I work for and for each one there has been a very extensive search for already published stuff.
On the other hand if the thieving part makes a few changes to anything, patented or not, he can always get away with it and get a new patent himself.
I’ve took a look at your holder, I think this is nothing special that can be patented, the gear looks like an typical one from Thingiverse added with a holder to fit on the K8400. I also guess this makes more noise than using the “standard” fixitation with the ball bearing. This is just my own opinion, so don’t see it that negative!
Nobody here wants to patent their work. We were discussing the fact Makerbot patented things created by their community, which is evil.

It’s not just Makerbot.
Recently Autodesk patented a mixing extruder. Such was also still out there…
I’m not familiar with the US Patent system, but i think patenting prior art is not legally possible in the US too.
