here is the story about my problem.
I have 2 extruders and I have printed several things out of both sides with very much pleasure.
I was printing from the right extruder when it happened. The printer was still moving X, Y and Z, but there was no filament coming out anymore.
I would make first make my things for easter, so I moved the project to the left extruder but…
the left extruder did not do anything too.
Now I looked at the motherboard and swapped the driverboards from the extruders, both the heating elements are good, but I got no motor working.
I swapped more boards and got confused which I swapped and which not, unless I take notes, the working ones and the ones who don’t work seems to swap too.
then I tested only the XYZ places (= not to wait for the heater) and swapped the extruder motors to this places. I have seen all motors working, but I was not sure abouth which driver board was defective.
now I started with a blank motherboard and tested the driver boards one by one. It seems that only one driver board is still working on XY and Z, but I have no motor turning on both extruder places.
I did not do the firmware at this point because I had a working situation, and I think that the firmware does not make the drivers defective.
firmware is M1 V1.1 - 2 heads
no visual defects
Is there somthing I could have overlooked? or maybe can test more?
I have one with .90, two with .91 and two with .92
That is ok, but when I put one of the driver boards on to the MB then after approx 12 sec’s after power-on the bottom fan is starting.
when this one is out this is not the case.
Update:
After several mailing to and from the Velleman company they confirmed that the drivers are defective.
but I have to let the retailer send the parts fore me.
so, finally I went to the shop and we decided in consideration of a probability of a defective mainboard too that made the drivers go bad, that we should send the complete set for inspection.
I received my motherboard back (since medio June) and I have tested it for several hours now.
the problem was unfortunately not mentioned at the return of the board.
then I could finish this tread with a solution.
but the main thing is that the printer is working fine again. Many thanks for repairing.
p.s. @VEL327, no I never change anything with power on, and I even care for static electricity.
