Firmware 1.1 can overheat head during filament loading

Hi,

I just melted my insulator guide when trying to load a filament - the error is quite easy to reproduce (At least I could reproduce it easily)

WARNING: Do NOT try this your self, it can break your printer (it broke mine)

  1. Go into the menu on the printer and ask it to heat up the print head (PLA)
  2. While the head is heating up, use the menu to choose load fillament
  3. While the printer says “insert filament until 1.5 cm can be seen” (or something like that) the print head continue to increase its temperature but it doesn’t stop heating when reaching the 210C PLA temperature

I’m using the factory installed Firmware 1.1 for two heads

(I have opened a support ticket, hoping to get a new insulator guide under warranty)

The reason I found out was that I had a stuck filament during an overnight print, and after unloading the filament I was trying to clean the printhead and load the filament again.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention! We are taking a look on how we can change this behavior.

We have identified and fixed the bug. We are testing the new version of the firmware and it will be released shortly.

Great, thank you for fixing it so fast, and I can see there is a new insulator on its way.

Looks like I’ll be printing soon again

We will most likely release a new firmware version in the end of next week.

Thank you for you patience.

Sounds good - did you get the error fixed, that if you stop a print, while the printer is printing with head two, then if you start another print that should use head one, then it will actually start printing with head two too?

This is a problem with Marlin itself.
We are monitoring the newer versions of Marlin but at the moment everything is still to beta.

But we are aware of that behavior.
