Filament Spool Mount Wobbly

Hello all,

One of my filament spool mounts is a bit wobbly. It doesn’t hang perpendicular from the side of the printer; instead, it sags a little bit. The other one will keep spinning for several seconds when you push it, but this one stops almost straight away. There seems to be a fair bit of resistance. I’ve reassembled it several times, so if anyone can provide a reason as to why this might be happening or a possible solution, I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

Possible reason : the 2 ball bearings are too close or too far from each other.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ve checked that and tried swapping them between the other bearing, but it hasn’t worked. I think the issue is to do with the nut, as the bolts don’t sit perpendicular.

can you post a picture of the nut in question?

Hello,
I had the same problem.
Open the 2 round plastic parts ;
The first ball bearing must be tighten by the first lock nut (use a wrench, and tighten well).
the second lock nut must be at the distance specified in the manual.
The second ball bearing must be free. First tighten, and then release equally both nuts : you should leave a gap of about 0.5 mm between the ball bearing and the lock nuts.
Close the two round plastic parts, and do not tighten too much the screws, especially in front of the second ball bearing (the second ball bearing needs to move a bit).

It should be a lot better !

Stephane.
