I made a thing.
It is a filament filter for the Vertex that sits under the extruder on existing bolts. Made it open as well so it is easy to inspect and clean the filter while printing or without having to unload the filament.

I like it a lot. Will be first thing I’ll work on since I found a lot of dust in and around the PTFE tube at the extruder side. What are you using as actual filter?
I made 2 of these dust filters.

Works like a charm for me.
No more clogged nozzles since installation.
@ivor I’m using foam cutouts from a battlefoam miniature trays that I had lying around. Any sort of soft sponge/foam should do. Its nice that the cutouts are square so I can fit a couple on either side of the filament.
@vertex1 I made one of those my selfand was pretty happy with it. In the end I wanted the filter fixed to the case to both guide and so that it stopped being pulled around during feeding and being pulled against the extruder. I also had issues where dust gathered on the tight filter entrance and started to clog the filter. Less of a problem when I turned the filter the other way.
also with the filter is right bellow the extruder I don’t forget to thread it on the filament it when loading/unloading
Nice add-on!
Made 2 of these yesterday and used a dish spunge as the filter wish seam to work nice. Thx Freyzor for this one.
