I have a new printer which now ready for printing.
When a start loading PLA filament the extruder is heating to target temperature but the filament is not moved in to the printer. Manually I have move the filament in for some centimeters. The printer give the sign filament feeding but the motor is not running and filament is not moved. After some time the printer give the sign printer ready.
What can give me this problem?
When your loading a (new) filament you have first to slide it manually until a bit is in the PTFE tube (not always easy).
The you need to heat the extruder to at least 170° (recommended is 210°) as a lower temperature will get you a “cold extrusion” warning and the motor wont move a bit.
Then in Repetier you click on the extruder feeding button on the right (first the fast movement 50 mm at a time) until the filament reaches the extruder.
If the motor is not running, first check the wiring, then the motor driver (swap the one driving the extruder with another) and test again. Also check that the red LED close to the driver lits up when you’re clicking on the extrusion button.
I am surprised by this answer. Filament loading with feeding seem to me a proces which should need no support from the Repetier but I have done this but no success.
Further testing to morrow.
Did you use the ‘load filament’ option from the lcd panel? Or did you use the computer to feed it?
I did use the loadfilament option from the LCD.
Did you check the cabled for proper placement?
Did you try to re seat the cables?
I have checked the cables and found a displacement. Extruder1 was connected on the Extruder 2 position.
Thanks for our remarks.
Sounds like everything may be working??
