i just got my new hsp140i. Tried to test an 8v ac and got nothing, tried the test signal on the back, followed all instructions and still nothing. Then i set the thing to 1 mv took the pobe off and stuck my finger on the bnc connector and got a reading, im thinking a bad probe?.. i am new to oscilloscopes, the hps140 is my first so i really hope its just the probe or i’m doing something wrong. please help. thanks in advance
Sorry to read you experience troubles.
Please check the probe with e.g. a multimeter.
GND to GND should measure approx 0 ohms.
Signal to signal is usually around 200 ohms in the ‘X1’ position.
Should the probe be defective, then please return it to your Velleman distributor.
thanks for the quick reply, its reading open circuit on all ohm settings so yeah its the probe. S j electronics have requested i email them them and attatch your reply so it should be sorted soon. Thanks again.
