Hello,
Just mounted this printer.
In the step of calibrating the motors at .425V , i can not set the motors correct (2nd and 4th)
Also, the big regulator get HOT!
Ofcourse, first you think of a connection problem, but even without any connector on the bord, i have the same hot regulaltor (also the logic controller on the main board gets hot)
I can not get the software connect to the printer also.
USB works, when i plug in the pc, it says com4, light light up on the board, but the moment i connct the power supply, the lights go out.
any tips or steps? Hate to wait…
thanks
Rudy
It seems like you have a faulty board (sounds like a short).
Can you send the board and a detailed description of the problem to:
Legen Heirweg 33
B-9890 GAVERE
België (Europa)
We will check it and send you a replacement part.
Sincerely
Velleman Support Team
Dear, I can not mail to you, is it possible to contact me on rudy.de.geus@me.com?
Thanks
Rudy
We have on troubleshooting action you can perform.
Remove (while power is not connected) the motor drivers (the small boards on top of the motherboard) one by one. Try to connect the power supply after each board you removed.
Does the problem persist?
post your findings below.

Yes, problem still exists, even without any connector (also all the switches, heaters and thermistors disconnected), the regulator gets hot.
Is it normal for the usb leds to go out once i connect the power supply?
I also checked the full wiring, on each motor connector i can measure the 2 coils, the heaters and end stops are also good, and the thermistors alos give ± 100 ohm.
Powers supply is 15v.
I would like to echange the board, i can come to Gavere after an appointment.
Greetings,
Rudy
if you connect the power supply does the voltage still stays 15V?
Yep, stays the same (15.4V)
Did some more tests,
Can’t get the motherboard connected to the pc (Win 7, Com 4) when i connect the power supply. Connectors on or off the board, no difference.
When i try to adjust the .425 voltage, i can only adjust 2 of the 4 stepper controllers. When i move them on the mainboard, the problems go with it, so i suppose there are 2 faulty drivers. And probably a mainboard issue to (maybe the source of all the problems) .
I can bring these parts to Gavere, maybe you can exchange them for me? It is quite frustrating, having to wait for a part…
Greetings
Rudy
It sounds indeed like a faulty board.
You can send the board together with a detailed explanation and your address to:
Service Department Velleman
Legen Heirweg 33
B-9890 GAVERE
België (Europa)
Or you can indeed stop by at the same address (09:00 - 11:30 / 13:00 - 16:30) and then we can exchange the board directly (ask for R&D dep. at the reception)

Thanks for exchanging the board, electronics are fine now, first print is coming out at this very moment.
(Still some things to learn / adjust)
Bed is not flat, will probably try the ikea mirror trick;-)
Once i have full control, i will also switch to my mac.
I think you need to start by checking wiring.
In case of wiring OK, peharps you can try to swap stepper motor connector to see if the problem comes from motor or board.
If the problem comes from board, you can try to swap stepper motor Testking 1z0-054 braindumps piggyback to see where is the problem
