Extruder motor moving both ways when using the manual comand

Please can anyone help me, i bought a k200 3d printer and assembled it, initially after assembling and installation, it worked well during the first printing, later that day, the extruder motor stopped moving, the extruder motor doesn’t move, i bought a new set of motors and changed the old once but still the same. When i tried moving the motor using manual control, it moves front and back with the same forward button,

Please can anybody help me with this issue on how to resolve it.

Thank.

At first, check your wiring and make sure the motor coils are wired in correct pairs and with correct polarity.
Also set the stepper driver to 0.55V

Thanks for your reply, i have checked the wiring over and over using the online instruction and it is wired correctly, the stepper driver has been set to 0.55v and still having the same issue.

Please what else can i check to resolve this issue to enable me enjoy my printer

Try swapping the stepper driver modules of Z axis and extruder and see if the problem moves to the Z axis.
If so, your stepper driver is faulty.

Yes, I have tried swapping the motors, the same issue with the motor i swapped.

Thanks

Anyway, try swapping the stepper drivers as well, to sort out if it is the driver module or the mainbord that is causing the issue.

Try removing the plastic from the extruder.
Heat it up to 190C then try it.
Maybe the nozzle is clogged.

I just tried all you suggested all to no avail, i have tested all the four motors with the same issue, in the process of printing the extruder motor will just be shaking as if it want to move forward or reverse. I have disconnected all the wiring then re-wire again, it did not solve the problem, please i really need help.

Manual control moves the motor forward and reverse with the forward button. What should i do.

Thanks

As i already suggested several times :

Exchange the stepper dirver boards of extruder and z axis.
(remove both from the controller and simply swap them)

This will allow to figure out if the stepper driver module is faulty.
If the problem persists on the extruder after swapping the drivers,
the mainbord may be damaged.
If the Problem moves to the z axis after swapping the drivers,
the stepper driver is faulty. Then simply replace it.

When you rewired the extruder motor, did you use all new wiring or did you just
resolder the existing wiring?

Yes I have swapped all the other 3 motors with the same error but when I fix them back, there work very well, the re-wiring is with the old wire, I just removed them and carefully re-soldered them using the online instruction manual, are u suggesting that the board might be the course?

Thanks for ur help and assistance

No, i don’t mean to swap the MOTORS.
I meant swap the STEPPER DRIVER MODULES.

This is the only way to find out if the controller or the stepper driver is faulty.

For clarity, this is a stepper driver :

Thank for that picture, let me try it, i pray it works.

Thanks once again for your assistance.

I just tried swapping the other three drivers like you suggested but to no avail, the issue still remain.

I am using a Repetier-Host V1.0.6 software, the top arrow under the Extruder 1 moves the Extruder forward and reverse when i press it about 3 times. Is it suppose to move that way?

Thanks

The extruder should move backwards (counterclockwise) when pressing the top (above) botton
and forward (clockwise) when pressing the bottom buttons (below).

If you tried all stepper modules in the extruder slot with the same result, your controller may be faulty.
Does the extruder motor turn correctly if you connect it to the z axis port? (using the z axis controls, of course)

Yes it does move correctly

Then, a last question :

Did you change the firmware of your printer ? (upload a different version)

No, i did not change the firmware

Well, then i fear the controller board is damaged. Did it work before?

yes, the day i finished it, it printed only one module

Can you please upload a video of the behaviour of your extruder motor? (Youtube for example)
Also clear, high res pictures of the controller board top side might be helpful.
(best is one with all wires attaced, one with out wiring to see the board)
