Extruder 1 stopped heating

Been using the printer no problem, went to do another job and noticed the led light on the head wasn’t coming on. Then looked at the feedback from the program and the LCD screen and the extruder wasn’t heating. Powered off the printer and disconnected the wires. Checked the wires for continuity and they were fine no breaks but on the head end there was brown scorch marks on the plastic of the connector. Next to the extruder 1 pins (purple and grey wires). Checked the board no problems there, it is putting out a voltage and the led on the board is coming on. Also extruder 2 is working no problem.
Am I right in thinking the extruder element has burnt out?: If so how do I get a new one and what could of caused it? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there away to test the heating element with a multimeter? Also with out stripping down the head is there any other tests I can do first to check whats happened? ie does the small pcb on the head have anything that could cause this problem?

@VEL337 thanks just powered it up and set the extruder 1 to heat and pressed on the connector and the led light came on, definitely loose connector, something I can easily fix.

many thanks
