After pressing button SW8, there in the Device Manager under Human Interface Devices should appear a one more HID-compliant device.
If this does not happen, you may try following:
Connect the EDU05 to other USB socket and try again.
Use other USB cable.
Have you possibility to test the EDU05 in other PC?

I was hovering around security software, permissions, etc. assuming the new USB cable was right, Wrong! a new cable and Voilà! I never learn.
