What is a dry contact ? Can you just short-circuit the terminals with a switch/contact ?
When i short-circuit the terminals there is a current of 24 mA. Is that normal ?

A “dry” contact is just a switch that does not actively control anything. Its state is just sensed by the passage of some small current. Typically this is < 10 mA, though I do not know what the specs for the VM201 might be. As that input seems to be multipurpose 24 mA would not surprise me…
