Drown power from the mainboard

Hi,

I have a question about the 2 connectors (PL 2 and PL 3) on the mainboard near the powerconnector.
I couldn’t find the connector PL 1 on the mainboard however it’s visible on the schematic.
As I saw on the schematic they provide 15V but how much current may I draw?

I would like to connect the Ikea Dioder LED set to that connector. I doesn’t need a lot of power so I think it’s possible.

Cheers,
Dylan

How much amps does the dioder need?
The only limiting factor if connected to PL2 will be D1 (aside from the copper traces)
I don’t know exactly what current D1 can handle, but as it serves the whole board i think it will be more than sufficient.

Careful: D1 is a 1A diode.
It might be better to take the supply for the leds from the +15V before the diode.

Oh, good to know, but how do the heaters and motors get their power then?
Or are they connected to “PL1” ?

They get their power from +Vin, which is upstream of D1.

Oh, surely … X:}

The idea was that Ikea use the same connectors as Velleman on their mainboard so it’s easy to connect the LED’s
The LED’s use ± 0,3A

Cheers,
Dylan

I simply connected the Ikea LEDs directly to the 15v output on the power supply, works like a charm for me.
