DriverLINX problem with PCS500

I just received a PCS500 scope with a parallel port connection . I’ve upgraded the software to the latest version - 4.05. PC is running WinXP and LPT1 is set via BIOS to normal, although I’ve also set it for ECP and Bidirectional with the same results for the following problem:

When I boot the PC, the red power light on the front of the unit goes on and the scope operates normally. If I shut down the software for the scope, the red light goes out. If I then restart the software, the red light does not come on and I repeatedly get a message that there was a load error and the DriverLINX could not be found. I’m then instructed to run INSTALL_DRV.EXE to install the driver. I do this and everything works fine after rebooting, but as soon as I shut down the program and then try to run it again, the same thing happens. Is this normal behavior for the program or is there something I’m missing. Thanks.

Hello,

You might want to look at this link.

I hope this helps.

I read this post before I reported the problem and deleted the appropriate key in the registry as outlined in that post. Unfortunately, the problem still exists.

In this thread there seems to be about similar case and more instructions to try to solve it:

Changing the Start value to 1 in the registry seems to have done the trick. Thanks!
