Drill in Vertex case plastic

Hi everyone,

I want to install a heated bed MK2a and an extern power supply. I would like to mount the power supply like the one from Velleman.
For that I need to drill some holes in the Vertex case.

The only thing I am afraid of is that the plastic maybe splintered?

Cheers,
Dylan

It is rather safe to drill holes, just drill with lowest speed available and low pressure. The trick is to not get the plastic to hot that it melts. Clean the drill often.

Thanks! I just wanted to be sure since It isn’t easy replaceable…

Cheers,
Dylan

To be aware of splintering when you drill in soft materials put a piece of wood or same material after de place where you drill and drill through both pieces, you only have splintering on the last piece you drill.

I drilled the holes with a hand drill. If your using a power drill use the lower speed ans begin with smaller holes.

You may want to put some masking tape over the place you want to drill and drill through the tape.
