Do i have a faulty hps140?

Just got an HPS140, now that it’s fully charged when its turned on it boots up fine and show the graphics on the screen, all fully working with menus etc. The only problem is that it doesn’t display a trace across the screen ! Perhaps there is some setting I’m missing ?

What kind of measurement did you perform or did you attempt to perform?

it doesn’t want to measure, even a simple 9volt battery wont produce a line on the display !

Did it show a line before you’ve attempted your very first measurement?
Anyway, this problem is not user serviceable. Please return the unit to your distributor for inspection/exchange/repair. Make sure to include proof of purchase.

It’s never showed a line, I did think at first that perhaps that was because it wasn’t fully charged. Now after a full charge there is no change.

If you have never seen a trace, this looks like a DOA.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We are puzzled, because every unit is calibrated and tested before it leaves the factory.

are you able to give me any idea as to what is wrong with it ? And an approximate cost for repairs? thanks

No, as we stated before, we are puzzled.
There is a two-year warranty, so if the damage has not been caused by user error, the unit will be exchanged or repaired for free.
