Display flashes while printing

At the moment I’m printing for the first time I notice that the display of my K8400 turns off and on each 4 seconds or so.

Is this normal?

I’m printing using the usb interface and repetier, the print is progressing as normal (I think). The display is turned up to it’s brightest setting. I’m using the single extruder 1.1 firmware. The display doesn’t flash when using the menu’s standalone (e.g. moving axis).

Update: I just noticed the socket is ungrounded. So I’ll try the next print using a grounded socket.
Update II: The ‘problem’ still occurs using a grounded socket.

I noticed the same. I was under the impression the screen just refreshes every few seconds Concerning the eta time… I thought nothing of it  now you mention grounding, what exactly did you do in that regard? Can you perhaps post a pic of the grounding? I fear I’ve missed something there as well. .

I simply plugged the printer into a grounded outlet in my kitchen  (my house has only grounded outlets in “wet rooms”). But the grounding should have nothing to do with the display as only the PSU is grounded and the board is fed with DC.

I also noticed that the display only flashes when updating the ete. I doesn’t flash while printing directly from a SD card.
