You who have tried using both Curas program and repetier (with Cura slicer), any difference, benefits or drawbacks with either one of them?
I’d love to hear what you think and why.

I’m using the Cura program because the repetier Host for Mac is horribly outdated.
Same for me. Cura work well. I use it both with my K8200 and my K8400.
Hi,
Can you please tell me how did you make the configuration in Cura for the Vertex K8400: did you create a new printer profile using the “Configuration Wizard” or did you get the *.ini from a location ? Can you share your *.ini configuration ? (I do have the K8400 with 1 head only).
I also would like to try to update the current Cura engine in Repetier to the last version.
The repetier has only CuraEngine.exe and CuraEngine.dll files.
How can I upgrade it to the last version of Cura ?
Thanks for your help,
Eric
i just created a new printer and filled in the values i found on this forum… it ain’t rocket science.
Just download the version from Velleman site
vertex3dprinter.eu/support/downloads
had just to change the flow % in the filament setting from 90 to 70 as when the layers
stacked more than 10 layers the nozzle touched the printed object as it feeded to much PLA
I measured the infeed of PLA when feeding from the manual control within Repetier
with a spare piece of tube I cut open and placed around the infeed PLA and hold it in
position with Scotch tape
feeding 10mm gave in real 13mm
feeding 20mm feed 26,29mm
feeding 30mm feed 39,03mm
If not clear I post a picture how I did.
Could you please post your .ini configuration file for K8400?
It would save me quite a bit of time…
Regards
