Cube Animator 1.4 Not working Correctly

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and downloaded Cube Animator 1.4. The driver K8018 5x5x5 Ledcub was installed also for my Velleman5x5x5 from 1.4 software. The cube Animator will open and I can edit and the Send to Cube or Remove from 5x5x5 cube icon function. However even though the custom made LED pattern can be made it doesn’t download to the cube? I can see the scan download and see it will vary depending on the pattern complexity I have made. But the cube doesn’t show it at all even though it shows it was downloaded? I can upload and download the default pattern off cube however I don’t believe it is exactly the same as what the Cube Animator program shows in LOOP ? I tried 2 different USB cables as well. All LEDS are working … Has anyone had this problem and how to fix it? If I need to download other software please add the link on reply.

Again today I removed and reinstalled Cube Animator 1.4 and 8018 driver. I made a 86 frame pattern lighting only the outside LED columns one at a time in circular motion going around the cube. When I downloaded it ALL the LEDS would blink on and off at the same time. I uploaded this pattern off the cube to loop in simulator it shows the pattern that I made but isn’t the one being displayed on the LEDS?

Try marking the first frame as the beginning of a scene.

Navigate to the first frame and press the Edit > Scene start button. The text “SCENE START” should appear in the top-left corner of that frame.

I have been doing tha marking with Start Scene still having problem…

Then we must assume that your microcontroller is broken, please mail it to us for a replacement

I removed microcontroller and ohmed out socket pins for shorts. I found pins 18 and 19 are zero ohms is that correct ?

Thank you, Crestlinebulldog

Looking at the schematic I don’t think they should be shorted.

I don’t think either they should be shorted but cant find what is shorting them together … Solder joints are clean no bridging???

I made a mistake the pins shorted were 25 and 26 on controller which are the clk and latch… Tracing schematic found a very fine solder drop on IC3 pins 2 and 3. After heating to remove it works now …

Thank you to everyone who were giving me support and suggestions.
