Cpu fail

Hello,

I have VK8061 and it worked fine until today.
Now, when I connect to USB and start running program it shows the message: CPU FAIL.
The software recognizes the card (if I change adress jump it recognizes card 0 or card 1…)
Follow the check I made:
connected only power cable but the LD12 was OFF.
LDS 11 eand 12 never switch ON
LDS 13 - 20 was ON
optocoupler IC1 e IC2 are in the correct positions
the voltage on J2 is near 5V and also PIN 11 + 32 of IC6
the voltage on PIN 14 of IC6 is 2.3V
the voltage on PIN1 of IC6 is 5V
I have not checked crystal and C19 and C20
I replaced IC4 and IC5

I suppose CPU is broken.
Can you suggest other check?
Is it possible to buy CPU alone? If yes can I know how to buy?.
I am from Italy.
Thank you in advance
Is it possible to buy CPU alone?
Sorry, this is not possible. You have to send the defective part for inspection/exchange.

You can return the kit for inspection to your local Velleman dealer or to:

Velleman Projects Tech. Dept.
Legen Heirweg 33
9890 Gavere
Belgium

I confused myself and I send for inspection only CPU.
Only now I have realized that I had to ship all kit.
Is it possible to send now the rest of kit?
Is it possible to send now the rest of kit?
Yes.
Alternatively you may first test with the replacement CPU.

I am quite sure that CPU is broken.
If you agree I wait for you analyze CPU already shipped and then we accord for final solution.

Hello,
I have received back CPU, thank you.
There were no comments.
I Have placed it again on board but the result is the same: CPU fail.
Can I send you all the board for check?

I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,
I have received back the card.
It works good now, thank you very much!
I should like to know what was the broken part.
Thank you very much again

Repair dept. informed us that there was a short on the PCB.
They also replaced main and USB processor.

I see.
Thank you very much for assistence.
