CPU fail K8061

Hi,

I got a problem with my interfaceboard K8061. When i want to connect my interfaceboard to my computer there’s a message : “CPU fail”
I have replaced all my IC’s for checking that it wasn’t an IC, but it showed still the “CPU fail”. I also checked the soldering and that seems to be fine…
I’ll hope someone can help me…
grtz

First you may test the IC6 (CPU) is working OK.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Connect the power supply to the SK2 connector.

  • Now LD12 (RUN) should start flashing.
  • All the LEDs LD13 to LD20 should be lit.

hi,

the ld12 is flashing
the leds 13 - 20 are lit.

grtz

When USB cable connected and you run the demo program:
Is the RX/TX LED LD11 constantly lit?
And the LD12 is lit and stops flashing.

LD12 is flashing and RX/TX isnt buring.

This may indicate that the optocoupler IC2 is in wrong position.
It should be “opposite” compared to IC1 position.

they are already in the opposite postion…

Please check the soldering of IC2.
Also check all the components attached to IC2 (right value, good soldering).
Check the traces going from IC2 to IC3 and IC6.

If all OK, then as a final test you may check if IC2 is defective.
Remove IC2 and replace it with the optocoupler placed now to IC1 socket.
When running the demo program LED LD11 should flash and LD12 should be continuously lit.

Check the jumper wire J1 installation (next to IC3).

The card can’t connect to the pc anymore.
When i put the power cable on the card LD12 is flashing
when i connect the card with the computer LD10 goes on.

Now you can first check all the soldering around IC3.
Check carefully the USB connector soldering.

The soldering of both are ok.

You have to return the kit for examination/repair.
