Could be ATMEGA damaged?

Hi,

did terrible thing, connected the second Nozzle Drive Motor 180 rotated (the same as the rest Drive Motors). The driver got fried (bought new one). Everything other worked. Now I connected all together ans what is not working:

  • cannot reverse the second nozzle extruder
  • the voltage for heating is low: 13.995 V, and the working nozzle is: 14.067 V

Almost everything is working well, but having some problems. What can be damaged? Could be ATMEGA damaged? or any other suggestion? I think that when Atmega would get damaged everything else would stop working. Am I right? But it is strange that I cannot reverse the second extruder (doesn’t respond to driver changes… the first extruder responds for reversing it with driver).

If I had to replace ATMEGA, could you provide the EPROM settings for uploading it to ATMEGA? Thinking about repairing it buy my own. Could you give me some tips what to search for?

The heating voltage is okay imho. How did you measure such accurate voltage? (OT 5 digit multimeter I assume, didnt see those before) But the difference In voltage can have many factors, longer wires, less tightened screws etc… It’s neglectible imho… But the non reversible extruder extruder thing is another issue. Fried stepper motor? Swapped it with the other one? Idk if you can manually reverse with the turnknob on the side never tried that. Your nozzle needs to be above 160°C to get the extruder motor running manually.

But before starting to solder the mainboard yourself I’d open a support ticket. It’s the most expensive part in your printer so you’d need to send it to them probably. But Velleman warranty and support is top notch and I’d check that first for sure

Thanks. Tested the voltage because of the long time that second nozzle heats up (for me it is a bit strange, the first one is faster).

How to open support ticket? I’m knew to Velleman Projects.

For now I swapped the extruder 01 with 02. Reversed the 01 in drivers and for know it works. Having problems with the heating one nozzle for ABS.

But sth is still wrong and have to find why reverse motor on one of nozzles not working.

The multimeter: BRYMEN BM867s

Yes the 245 degrees is on the high side imho with fans running, I printed mostly around 225 with the stock nozzle.

You print ABS with 225 ?

Exactly, I’ve only printed black ABS with the stock heads to be exact, which needs less heat than white or other light colors.
And slow down the fans when printing abs, NOT turn them completely off! The PEEK needs cooling!
