Controlling a 3-phase AC induction motor with K8055

Hi!

Slightly strange endeavour here, but I’ll ask anyway

Would it conceivably be possible to control a 3-phase induction motor by connecting 3 SSDs to 3 digital outputs of the K8055, and then looping through those 3 outputs in rapid succession? Or is the interface / USB too slow for that?

It’s a high-torque application, so very high rotation rates are not really necessary.

Thanks

As with many things it would be quite possible given enough resources, mostly time an money. However there are any number of commercial unit available to do that, with PC generated commands rather than direct PC control–so the fundamental question to me is is why?

In the end I believe acquiring a device designed to do this would cost far less and be far more reliable and accurate than using a unit like the K8055, designed to be experimental/educational and a GREAT product in that regard, to cobble together a solution…

110% IMHO…
