Hi, I have an amplifier which is based on 2 STK darlington modules. Recently one of them got shorted and is now passing 42 volts into one of the speaker outputs. Only by coincidence my speakers weren’t connected when this happened so everything OK so far. But as STKs just like any other transistors can fail and get shorted I want to make sure that if/when this happens again my speakers are safe.
My questions before I purchase this:
- Is this going to work in a scenario which i described above i.e. high DC voltage (20-40V) going into the speakers?
- Is this device reusable? Like when it engages the protection will it work again once the fault is fixed?
- Does it require any external power supply?
Thanks in advance.
