Connect K8023 to K6714-16

Recently built these kits and individually they test properly. I have connected them as outlined on page 11 of the K6714 booklet. I used a jumper to short the inputs (1-10) to COM on the 8023S which resulted in the correct LED on the 8023R lighting up but no activity on the relay PCB, however, the relays operate with the dip switches. I have observed some, not all, channels will pulsate the LED’s slightly when shorted to COM.

Please HELP! I’m at a loss and reluctant to forge ahead adding power supplies and modifying relay board IC’s with jumpers and reconfiguring the interconnections of the boards, when I am not familiar with the technology.

Please check manual page 5 item 1
To control the K6714 with the K8023, you do not need to place the transistor arrays IC1 & IC2.
Replace the dotted lines by wire jumpers, as indicated on the board.

Thank you, that point seemed to be an optional configuration to me.

Could you also confirm to me the proper method of replacing the AC source I now use with a 12 VDC battery. Should I simply attach the + to VB and - to GND on the Relay PCB while maintaining the same board inter connections (Fig 2.0 page 11)?

Thanks for the help this forum is terrific.

Should work fine as you describe.
