Conncting problems K8200

I have bought by Conrad NL, a kit of the K8200.
In my opinion its a quality product.
Only the coupling between the Z-axis and the M6 threaded rod was missing.
Where can i get it?

The commissioning was simple, mechanical and also electrical.
All wiring was checked 2 times
After connecting the power, all four motors are in motion and make 4 short strokes in both ways.
After that the fan was starting, first slowly and then faster and faster.
In the same time the bed heater was warming up.
After pulling the NTC connection, the heater was stop.
If the limit switch of the X-axis as activates by hand, the X and Y motor move to left and the front side.
By activation the Y limit switch the X and Z motor moved to the front and top.
After activating the Z limit switch the Z and E motor are moving.
I cant believe thats OK?

The voltage of the E motor can not be adjusted on 0.425 V. Its jumping between 0.00 and 5.00 V.
I have changed the E and the Z driver, now the Z driver can’t be adjust.
I think the drivee is damaged.

After installing the Repeter-Host software on Windows XP and also the driver, I can make a connection with the motherboard over COM 3.
But the software gives a message: “connected – 4 command Waiting”
I am using the software “setupRepetierHost_84”
and the Com driver “CDM v2.12.00 WHQL Certified”

There is no message:
“FIRMWARE_NAME:Marlin V1; Sprinter/grbl mashup FIRMWARE_URL:http://www.K8200.eu -http://www.velleman.eu PROTOCOL_VERSION:1.0 MACHINE_TYPE:K8200 - 3D PRINTER EXTRUDER_COUNT:1”

If have also made a update of the firmware, with success. (with Arduino)

But there is no more movement on the machine.

Printer setting:
COM3, 250000 baud, 1 Stop bit, No parity, auto-detect and cache size 63.
also the other printer settings like the handbook (Web site)

The last check was to disconnected all the motors, heaters, fan and switches, connecting the motherboard with the USB and the power supply, but also in this case the message: “connected – 4 command Waiting”
Only the red and green LED for the USB are lightning.

thats my problem, a not working machine.

Did you use arduino 1.5.8 for the firmware uptdate?
If so, do it again using arduino 1.0.6.
The newer version doesn’t complie marlin correctly.

cheers,

Christian

I was using Arduino 1.0.6.
And i am allso registered by the forum

cheers,
Hans

Is the power supply properly connected and gives 15v?
Also check the USB connector for broken connections or bad solder joints, as it is easy to break it.

cheers,

Christian

I have checked the circuit board with a lens and a lot of lighting.
All the solder points are OK
If i connect the USB to the comptuter the red and the green led is lighting.
Allso the power supply is OK, 15,4 V by running motors.

cheers,

Hans

But it still doesn’t connect?

exactly, only the message “connected – 4 command Waiting”
and thats all.
I think the motherboard is demaged. Or?

cheers,

Hans

Did you check the reset switch?
Perhaps it’s locked in closed position …

cheers,

Christian

Try downloading the newer Repetier for the K8200 from this link.
http://www.k8200.eu/downloads/files/downloads/setup_repetierhost_k8200_0_95f.zip
This will have the drivers and ini files already in it.
Once you have it installed go into the printer settings and make sure Reset on Connect is set to Disabled.
Make sure the Baud Rate is 250000.

OK.
I have check the reset button. Everything OK. After push the button the machine is starting again like the first time.
Now i have made the next step.
I have taken my MacBookPro (Apple) and installed the Mac Software version 0.56 of Repetier-Host and the driver FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_2_18.
By the printer-settings I have selected “usbserial-A603LBYA”, Baud rate: 250000, 1 stop-bit, parity None, Transfer Protocol: Autodetect.
And: Firmaware sends OK after error.
After starting the Repetier-Host, the same thing is happend as by the windows version.
Conect without USB, gives the error: “Couldn’t open port for device usbserial-A603LBYA”.
With connected USB the message is: “Connection opened” and on the bottom line the message: “5 commands waiting” and:
"1949 FPS Unknown printer… Waiting for temperature.

I think, the USB controler on the motherboard is demaged and one of the motor driver as well.

Try again with all stepper driver boards removed.
Does it connect ad react then?

1.: I have downloading the Repeater software V0.95 and instaled it.
with the same parameter as before. With the same results.

2.: I have switched off the motherboard und puling all the motor driver and teh motor connections as well.
After restarting, the same problems as before, only the message “connected” and “waiting”.

It’s a horror.

best regards,

Hans

Do you have more than one com port on your computer?

I just had a similar issue with my “board soldered” USB cable.

“Connect” but no answer…

It was caused by some usb pins touching.
Look again at your USB Port if there are any misconnections or bad joints.

Also check if your 15V power screw terminal has proper connection and no bad solder joints.
Missing ground on 15V rail can also cause that.

You could also try a different USB cable

I have tray 4 different USB cable.
I have check the ground pin and board wiring, but no error.
I have resolder the USB pins, without result.
I have used all the USB ports (3 piece).
The messages on the screen by Mac and Windows are the same:
“connectted and wayting”.
If i connect the USB cable but not the powersupply, the red & the green USB led are lights on.
If i shwich on the power, the both leds don’t lights, but the 4 red motor, fan and bedheater leds, lights.

you see it’s a horror.

greating,

Hans

Sure you didn’t swap positive and ground on your 15v power input?
If not, what happens to the led’s if you power up the printer without USD

cheers,

Christian connected?

I don’t have swap the power input red is + and black= -, also checked with the multimeter.
If the powersupply is connected and the USB not, it is the same as power supplay and USB are connected,
4 red led for the motors, 1 red led vor the fan and 1 red led for the bedheating is lights on.
The last up on to the bed temperature of 35° C, mesuring with a laser teperaturmeter.

greatings,

Hans

What voltage do you measure on the bed heater pins if the board is powered and the hrater plug disconnected?
Sounds like the 5v regulator is faulty.
