Config file for ABS printing

Hi
Have Velleman produced a config file for printing with ABS yet?
Does anyone else have such a file?

Look at viewtopic.php?f=47&t=9902
and today i had seen its also online on the europe server k8200.eu/support/downloads/

the ABS config file was already online on europe server Saturday evening

But why there is no message on : k8200.eu/news

bed temperature 70°C ?
i try to print with this settings

Edit:
Ok i had tested the setting with kapton tape on a mirror
in the config is 1mm brim aktivated.
the print will stick not as mutch as printed with 90°C bed temperature, but it works.
but after print it is easyer to get the gods out of the bed with 70°C bed temperature.

In the FAQ of the K8200 they will use “normal translucent packing tape” as survace on the heatbed (k8200.eu/support/faq/)

The speed setting for print are faster as the settings in the PLA ini

eytec , Thanks for your information,
i’ll try ABS this week end,( i hope )
does Kapton is a must have ?
because i don’t have it at home

does anyone have a good place to buy it ?

thanks in advance for your answer

I use hairspray to help it stick. I had problems with the seems when you use tape.
With hairspray you also get a very smooth shinny surface and no seems from the tape.

Other settings for printing very thin ABS (three layers of 0.24mm make a nice flexibel sheet)

extruder at 235°
bed covered with glass 4mm
bed temp of 90°
hairspray on the bed (you don’t have to apply hairsprau every print, after a while it get’s blurry. Than you wash it off and apply again)

Also the height of the first layer is very crucial. When it’s printing the skirt I always ajust the height manual (just by turning the coupler of the z-axis) so it’s perfect.
You can use a small tool to push the skirt to see if it’s sticking well. And ofcourse your bed needs to be flat.

EDIT: the bed temp of 90° is possible when you use a seperat power supply for it (I even got it to 100° to print FLEX PE)

I have tried the setup for ABS with Repetier-Host but its not working so good :frowning:
I get really nasty curls on the prints and then it gets lose.
Now I have gone to use Cura 14.03 and that seams to work better with flat sprint, but I cant make thin large prints even with brim and supports.
I use the standard bed that I sanded and use hairspray on to get the sticky.

The hardware seams not to be suited for ABS! I cant maintain 70 degrees on the heat bed (max 65),
and the power-supply is burning hot.
Its a shame that you should be forced to remake the machine to maintain a suitable temperature for ABS.
I feel like i been screwed on this printer :frowning: False marketing to say it works with ABS without some serious remakes.

Have you tried to slow the printer down?

Yes I did slow it down to 15-20% this last time but it got lose after 9-10 layers :frowning:

I go back to PLA now so I get some work done. :frowning:
