My new K8400 printer seems to work fine now, due to a quick response with new parts from Velleman.
My first attempts at printing something are less then I hoped for. My main concern is a screw I wanted to try. The screw got out distorted in a strange way. If it was a perfect oval I would think that maybe resolution on the axis is different but this I can not explain, please see picture: 1drv.ms/1IRereH Maybe important to say that the direction of the distortion is diagonal to both axis (x,y)?
Can someone explain this? How can I fix it? How can I determine what is wrong?
thanks.
the belts are very tight. I checked the pullies.
How do i loosen the belts?
After I removed the belt clamps I could feel a slight jerk (in one direction) in the belts when I tried to move them. This made me remove the motor completely and only then I found that the motor pully wasn’t completely loose (like I checked before with the motor attached) but loose enough to cause troubles. I fastened it reattached everything and now circles are circles when printing. I can find a 0.05 mm deviation comparing two directions. This is the precision of the printer or still a problem? The bolt I am printing does not fit on the screw but at least they are both round, with the mentioned precision. The thread on the bolt is about 0.3 mm smaller than the thread on the screw. I printed them seperately, bolt first. I have to look into that, is the design allright? But if any of you has any thoughts before hand I would be glad to hear them.
Thanks guys!
