Hi there. I have done the unload filament (ABS) procedure couple of times, but it seem like it got stuck inside the nozzle/printhead. I had only ABS material avaiable on beginning, so i’ve loaded it first as i didnt have PLA just yet. Then, I’ve found out that you recommending PLA matt for the very first print. Is it ok to do the first print with ABS, or shoud I unload it and try with the PLA?? How can I unload my ABS filament safely? (just dont want to damage anything) Please, advise me! THX…
Having the same issue with ABS. PLA works OK. Any suggestion?
Heat up and try to feed a little manually and pull it out afterwards and repeat that a few times (lower the temperature so the filament can solidify a bit to 140°C before pulling it back out aka a atomic pull Google that for more info about cleaning and getting crap out of your nozzle the easy way) if that won’t work. Cut filament above Bowden coupler on the head and disassemble the printhead entirely and soak the nozzle in acetone to dissolve the abs. If you have a clogged nozzle from printing pla (which is more likely) heat the nozzle with a torch untill the pla comes dripping out and clean it. Tbh I think in the original nozzle I’ve had more clogged nozzles with pla than with abs. Also make sure you cut the ptfe tube as perpendicular as humanly possible. That’s more likely to get stuck than the actual nozzle itself.
Kind regards
