Calibration Problems

We are in the process of constructing the Vertex k8400 3d printer. We built it and updated the firmware for one nozzle, but we are unable to calibrate the X and Y axis. The Z axis works fine, but the motors for the X and Y axis are each having problems. It requirers a lot of force to move the extruder by hand and it looks like the motors are not able to do it. What should we do?

Thank you!

You must correctly align the X & Y axis or your print or it will never work. Check the procedure on the Wiki.

Thank you again! We have properlly alligned the rods. Now, we are loading filament. We cannot seem to bring the temperature past 180. How long does the filament loading process take and are there any reasons why ours may not be getting hot enough?
We cannot seem to bring the temperature past 180.
Try lift a bit the small ventilator so it doesn’t blow straight on the heater. You can also slow down the ventilators during the heating process : in Cura settings, G-code tab/ Start G-code set the line “M106 Sxxx ; Turn on fan” to “M106 S80”.

Regarding the two fans near the extruder, the probolem seems to be persisting even after lifting the small ventilator; however it is around 192 degrees now. Shouldn’t the fans engage when the extruder is near it’s target temperature? I think they are turning on too early on my machine.
