Calibration issue

I am going to try and rewire the motor. Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks

Hello All,

Update,

I have replaced the ribbon cable as suggested, this did not work.

I have attached a you tube video of he issue.

Please, I really need to sort this issue and nothing is working. I’m beginning to feel that there is a faulty part, either the extruder or the motor.

Your video is set to private, so no one can see it!

Thanks,

Made this public now!

Did you already set the stepper drivers to 0.55v as i suggested?
Especially the extruder motor will run way better then.

So, if you rewired the motor, set the voltage to 0.55v and the problem still persists you can try to swap the stepper driver modules,
let’s say x axis and extruder, to sort out if the stepper driver is faulty.

cheers,

Christian

Hi, if I had to guess I would say it’s an extruder temperature problem.
It appears that the motor is struggling to feed - that said it works fine during the retract.
You could try manualy raising the temperature to see what happens. What fillament are you using and at what temperature? If it’s the material supplied with the kit you can go up to 210 deg if needed.

If you raise the extruder to about 50mm, you should be able to turn the large feed gear with very little effort, if you cant up the temperature 5 deg and try again. At the correct temperature the fillament should slowly leak out of the extruder when stood.

I will try and swap the modules, see if that works.

I have tried both ABS and PLA filaments at over 200 degrees… that didn’t help at all.

Will try swapping the modules and get back to you,

Thanks,

and Yes… I did set it to 0.55 when you suggested that before

Thanks

I have ruled out a temperature problem as the filament runs freely when the large gear is turned manually.

Hi,

I went to try the suggestions today and the machine has completely stopped working. I can’t manually control the x,y or z axis and the extruder and print bed temperature is showing 200 degrees, which suggests the thermistor has gone I think.

Is there a number that I can call in regards to the issues I’ve had? This printer has never worked and I just want a refund now to be honest.
