First time I pulled the cable by accident and ripped off the connector. One solder pad removed - Should have restrained it properly
Second time I just put slight pressure on the connector while looking at something else. All solder pads gone. Signal pads ok. Glued back on with hotmelt.
Now the hotmelt has given way under the weight of the cable, even though it is now restrained. Not sure if I can solder it back on this time.
I really should know better than to leave micro/mini USB wires loose. It is my responsibility and not Velleman. Having said this a small addition to the user build instructions recommending restraint of the USB connector would save others from the same fate.
