most of the LEDs on the board are self-explanatory (fan, heating, pc connection, motor drivers), but since some days I see LD1 lighting up in some occasions. What does that LED signal?

LD1 is a general purpose LED of the CPU.
It shows a reset and other functions described in the firmware.
