Hello,
after elimination some selfmade minor problems, my new Vertex is printing. So far i love this printer.
Today he looses some steps while printing, shifted layers. I found the tension of the short belts ist very weak, compared to the long ones.
Is this normal? Cant believe it. Printhead is moving freely, well aligned.
Any Suggestions?

Is this normal? [/quote]No the long belts must have some slack but the short ones must be tight or with the torque of the motor they will skip some teeth.
sorry, i was inaccurate, the motor belts are ok, i meant the 670mm belts for the x axis.
i`'ve found a belt tensioner at thingiverse, will try it.
If i print little parts and the Vertex has to change direction very quick, he will shift layers.
Hiya Sope,
You might also want to check if the set screws in the pulley wheels have come a little loose. It happens at times & that results in shifting layers too.
Should you find them to be loose, add a bit of thread locking glue to threads of the set screw - it really helps to prevent them coming loose a second time.
Happy New Year & happy printing!
Thanks a lot. Lockingglue is a good idea. Yesterday i thought my nozzle is clogged, but it was only the loosen screw in the extruder
i checked x axis motor, but the screw is tight. And now secured by Loctite. Actually i’m printing the new belt-tensioner, and after that i’ll make a new try with the problemous parts.
Happy New Year for all of you!
Hi, i have solved my problem with the Belt Locking Spring
Ordered at banggood.com
Product ID: 928164
Price: 1.55$ for 10 pices
Completely of topic: but those “Belt tensioners” makes my eyes roll everytime when I see them online… Aren’t the springs in wooden cloths pins exactly the same only 10% of the price lol?
Kind regards
JeAfKe
