Audio power measurement

Hi, i like to know how to make the measurement of the audio output power?
it that just plug in the probe to the speaker out terminal of the amp and adjust the meter to 8 ohm and then put in 1k hz signal
and just check the number in the screen of the meter?

Thanks

Best is to measure using a 8 ohm (in your case) power resistor at the output of the amp

Otherwise you can use music and connect your speaker
Then you will see the the instand peak power

Do not connect your speaker if you want to use a continu sine wave signal, this could damage your speaker
If you use a sine wave, then output untill clipping but only max 1 sec.

Thanks for yr reply.
Do you mean parallel the meter with a power resistor at the output of the amp?

Indeed,

Note if you have ex 100Wrms amp, you will need 8ohm 100Wrms resistor!
