Arduino and k6714-16

hi there

probably a stupid question, but I want to communicate to my velleman kit with my arduino.
now I read that I have to connect the vb of the kit-board to the vb- of the arduino…

but I cant find any vb on my ardino!

what does vb mean exactly? or in other words, to what should I connect it on the k6714-16 kit?

thnx for your time

K6714 requires open-collector outputs
Sorry, we have no experience with Arduino.
Basically, you need to connect the ground of this Arduino with the ground of the K6714.
Next, if the Arduino is equipped with open collector outputs, you can connect it to the required channel of the K6714.

ow crap!

so I discovered arduino has no open-collector outputs, but just digital outs (5v), funny thing is though that the small kit:p2633
works perfectly with arduino…

what can I do to make it work? any tips?

and another question, is it possible to power the board with the arduino (GND and vb) or do I have to use the 220v source?
if not, why is there 220 on it? can you also power the relais from that source? (instead of the center pin?)

I’m sorry, I am pretty new to this stuff…
thnx for your help allready

hm…
I have the k6714-16
with transistor arrays, so I should be able to switch on TLL (=5v right?)
so I dont need the opencollector outputs

richt?

Yes, that is correct.

okee fixed it, power from external adapter
5v from arduino, both gnd’s on the same gnd, works lijke a charm

so i dont need any 220 etc…

thnx
