Hi all,
I am an owner of the k8200 and the vertex, the vertexes print quality is outstanding in comparison to the 200’s however it is much noisier. Does any one have any ideas or known ways to reduce the noise produced to a more tolerable level.
Thanks,
Alex
The most noise is coming from the Stepper Motors, so the best way to reduce the noise is to install TMC2100 Stepper Driver.
To me most of the noise comes from the vibrations when the head is executing rapid short movements. Curiously the noise decreases over time. The K8200 is particularly quiet when printing.
Hello
What needs to be changed to use TMC2100 on the K8400?
Firmware, something on the card?
And how much difference does that make?
Sincerely, Tommy
Hey,
there is not much about it. Buy them and google a little bit for installation on Ramps1.4

Youtube Video (shows the noise diffenence)

Also you can install cork gaskets against the vibration
