AllBot 412 - Can't support its own weight

Hi,

I’ve upgraded my AllBot 408 to a 412.
But now it can no longer lift its own weight.

  1. Have you tried the 412 setup with batteries yourself? Did it work ?

  2. Will the new LI-ION battery pack be more powerful?

  3. How can I easily power the bot with a cable?
It’s a shame its not just a USB port.

Thanks in advance !

1)Yes we tested it with the VRBS2 or external power supply

2)The Li-ion battery IS more powerful!

3)You can easily power the BOT with a cable.
Just connect a 5V/3A or higher power supply to the battery shield.
But make sure that the batteries are removed.

Probably a dumb question, but where do I find a 5V/3A cable for power?
Can I strip an old USB cable for this? Or do I need to buy it?

Thanks!

There are no dumb questions

Connect the power supply to the VRBS1 at connector SK1 on the top right of this image.

and some wires. (We use speaker cable)

I use the GP 2600 serie rechargeable NiMH batteries.
The do just te right thing for me. 1.2V and 2600 mAh
Way much better than those Duracell ones.

Do you have a 412 build powered by those batteries? or just the 408? I’m also using the GPs.
