After a few good prints, the next are bad

Hi,

after a few Prints (on the rightside of my picture), i had a problem with the Y-axis. The screw of the pully detached, and i had to fix again.
No problem so far, everything recalibrated.

Now, when i print, the filament (PLA) does not stick on the platform, and the axis don’t move as before. Circles are not round anymore.
I already checked http://manuals.velleman.eu/article.php?id=39
The belts are tight (not too much).

Any idea?

Thanks

Are you positively sure the motor pulleys aren’t loose (at least one of them)? It’s the main cause for circles not being round.
Set the nozzle bed distance to 0.2 mm max. It should stick. Your nozzle could be a bit clogged too. Don’t print PLA with temperatures above 195°.

Unfortunately not. I bought my Vertex about 2 weeks ago and there’s only one screw per belt pulley :-/
So using Loctite for the pulley screws is definitely not an option anymore, but a must.

Make a support ticket and ask for the double screw pulleys.
They are a must for every Vertex owner

Yep.only one screw!

But if the belt would be to tight, the right sside of the new print should also be bad !?
Temp: will change later, thanks 4info,but why does velleman say 210?

Good tip per se, but they only show one screw per pulley in the manual, so I’m not sure it’s gonna work anymore.

But to be honest, a bit of Loctite 243 is enough. It’s still easy to open them, but they’ll never come loose one their own.

They never changed the manual… However there’s a long topic about those pulleys on this forum.
I had to change them since they used screws with a tip end while the double screws have a flat end.
With the tip end the pulleys broke since the thickness was to thin to get the screw fixed.

First, Velleman told me to contact Conrad, as i bought the device in Germany.

Mail Velleman:
It is correct that the new type pulley’s have two set screws.

But for matters concerning warranty, you will need to contact Conrad.
Warranty issues will have to go through them, since they sold you the k8400 Vertex 3D printer.
Normally Conrad resolves these kinds of warranty’s without any problem.

I am convinced this will get resolved soon.
Kind regards,
Met vriendelijke groeten,
Fokke Dooijewaard
Now i got en email from Conrad:

They want me to bring the device to Munich (as i asked if it’s possible to pickup the pulleys there, as i’m in Munich next weekend (by plane!!)), or send them to me @home.

Or they want to send the device on my costs to them.
First they sell a device with “wrong” parts, now they want me to return on my costs, and wait x weeks for return ??

Just open a support ticket instead of mailing them. Take a picture of the pulley you have and say they don’t hold on to the axle. I’ve opened 3 tickets by now which all got resolved and received new replacement parts within 2 weeks.
Open your ticket here support.velleman.eu/

Kind Regards

@jeafke
Are there any other new parts that are changed??

Tks

Btw: Tks for the link!

Fyi, i got another reply from conrad:

Again, they want to SWAP THE ENTIRE DEVICE !!! But i have to send my device in
Well, that’s a GREAT SERVICE, Thanks conrad!

Ticket Velleman opened…

@raby

Hi,

i got today from Velleman 2 new pulley’s. But they are the same with only one screw. They told me, that a pulley with 2 screw’s don’t exist (19T2.5-8)
Only 19T2.5-8 have 2 screws.

Could you please take a picture of your pulley with 2 screws)

In the mean time, i took some locktite to fix the screws.

Did you get them from velleman directly?

Thanks

Sorry, my bad. If you meant the pulleys on the motors they have only one screw indeed. But there’s a flat on the motor shaft so they shouldn’t rip if correctly tightened. Loctite can’t do any harm for that purpose.

Ok  Thanks anyway.
