Add Profile for HIP

Hello,

I have recently finished building my dual-nozzle K8400 and as well as PLA filament, I also have some HIP filament for soluble supports. There is no profile for HIP on the repetier host or the printer itself, so how can I set one up?

As well as this, how would I set up a profile for loading HIP and preheating?

Thanks,

Daniel

HIPS uses the same profile as ABS.

Thank you for this information. If I did wish to use a different material, what could I do to make new material profiles?

You need to load the abs profile and then use the ‘save as’ button and save the profile under a different name. But be careful, for whatever bad UI reasons, repetier host does not do ‘the right thing’ - you can’t save specific print speeds & extrusion settings with filaments, just flow rates and temperatures. The others get saved as head configurations. Makes life tiresome for those of us who print with flexible filaments occasionally… :frowning:

Ah I see, thanks for the info.
The Repetier software is a little temperamental at times, and the default values appear to be far from optimal in some cases. Speaking of which, is there anywhere I can find optimal settings for each filament?

No, you have to test out very filament yourself. Specially as the Vertex is “a bit” unreliable in the default settings and temperature readings.[/quote]

I see. I would have thought there would be a thread on this sort of thing but I guess not. Not to worry, I’m sure I’ll get it right in the end!
