9 volts at 300ma

hi,

am i able to use a dc variable adaptor at 9 volts 300ma on the k8055 board through the clamp. i do not want to break it because it is quite an expensive board.

Be careful what you connect between the CLAMP and the digital output of the card (resistor in series with a LED, relay, motor etc…). The resistance of these devices should be high enough to keep the current below 100mA safe level.

Here you are: You just need one battery (or adaptor), one resistor and the LED.

is it safe for me to use a moter with the diagram because a motor has quite an inductive load?

No, it is not safe with this diagram.
You have to connect the plus (+) pole of the battery to the CLAMP terminal.
Connect the motor between the CLAMP terminal and the digital output terminal of the board.
