7.1 surround amp design suggestions?

I need some suggestions on how i would go about making a 7.1 amp, the main issue is volume controll how would that work also i would need at least 3 times the power for a sub and then theres the issue of crossing over the bass from all 7 channels to the sub while keeping the sub channel input at the same time.

Any help?

hi i’m not an expert, but here is a possible solution;
You need to make 4 stereo amps, or 8 mono amps, to separate all the channels you have.
Only, the source you would like to connect on this set must be already separated, such as an pc, for example, has 4 audio outputs, to achieve the 7.1 surround sound.
thus, all yhe amps will drive the channels like you wish:
Amp. 1 ==> fr left, fr right
Amp. 2 ==> Center, subwoofer (already crossed over in your pc)
Amp. 3 ==> rear left, rear right
Amp. 4 ==> the last pair of speakers

The volume issue you can solve directly ‘on source’. That’s how i should do it, off course…

Then i would need 1 extra amp to triple the power to the sub asuming the sub to be connected has 3 individual coils but then the input to the amps would be devided by splitting the signal from the preamp and how would i construct a volume control for 10 amplifiers i cant use my x-fi for volume control because pc’s use dgital volume control so the noise floor is fixed and dynamic range is lost.
