Make sure none of the reset buttons (the one you mounted and the one on the LCD) are not pressed.
Do not plug the cable in to the print head until you have this fixed.
Also check if the 2 parts of the display are correctly plugged in.

Have you checked the output of the power supply?
Should be 15 volts DC.
If you are in the USA there is a switch in it that needs to be changed.
